So, we are still pouring buckets of water down the toilet to force flush it. We are also taking sponge baths since there is no hot water and we can't bring ourselves to take cold showers. The picture below shows one wall inside the house. The owner is an artist and has painted all the walls like this. Another wall has a beautiful rainforest on it. The house is actually pretty cool in a number of ways, and sits at a desirable location. Such potential- too bad it would take months and hundreds of dollars to make it liveable.

The school secretary just came by to say that her brother is coming at 9:30 to show us his house, which should be available for rental today. It is only about 100 yards further down the mountain on the same road we are on- still a great location, but apparently a much nicer house (and cheaper!). Go figure.

It looks lovely- creature comforts not withstanding- :) You'll get used to it and be forever grateful that you have instant hot water in your house! Did you ever find forks?
