Art and the Greenhouse

Terry taught the kids some nature art techniques, such as turning a picture upside down to draw, and how to use charcoal and water colors. Some of the kids had never mixed paint colors. that blew my mind. Alvaro is one of the best artists at the school, and Terry spent a lot of extra time with him after school introducing him to pastels and other materials.
The greenhouse is a popular and active place.

In this picture, a local expert on orchids was showing the kids orchids and telling them interesting things about some of them. Some orchids flower for only one day, for example. She brought the smallest orchid in the world, too. It is an epiphyte (did you look that up?)
