Caterpillar

Here, my fourth graders are showing off the caterpillar they found in the hummingbird garden. They are taking it back to the classroom to keep until it turns into a butterfly. The picture below shows a bird (at top of picture) flying from a tree. I took the picture at the Children's Forest right here in Monteverde which is the largest conservation area in Central America. The forest is a patchwork of lands purchased over the years with money donated by children from all over the world (hence the name). Apparently, the effort was started by some children in Germany and Sweden who wanted to do something to help preserve the rainforest.
